This Luis Suarez saga looks set to last the distance doesn’t it?
Liverpool are determined to keep hold of the 26-year-old by placing a £50 million price-tag on his head.
We have supposedly offered two bids for the Uruguay international, a £35 million one and then newly an audacious yet rather cheeky £40 million plus a £1. Both bids were turned down, with Brendan Rodgers now insisting his star man is worth at least £50 million after seeing Edinson Cavani join PSG for around £54-55 million from Napoli.
Despite the aggro he receives from the media here in England, Suarez appears keen to join Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s side can provide ultimately what he really desires – Champions League football.
It’s been reported that we are preparing to go as high as £42.5 million, but this will almost certainly be rejected by the Merseyside club.
We all know of Suarez’s quality, as well as his controversial behaviour, but is he really worth £50 million?
Well with the way the transfer market is these days, £50 million isn’t too bad for a player of Suarez’s calibre to be honest.
It looks like a lot of money and I’m surprised we are still actually chasing him. But what is £50 million to a club with financial stability like Arsenal? We could easily afford to splash this out on the Uruguayan and still have some cash left in the kitty to bring in other recruits.
The fact is if you want top players you have to spend top dollar to get them, and Suarez is undoubtedly one of the most prolific forwards in world football today who would certainly take us to the next level.

The last £50m sale from Liverpool is, well, we know the drill. Suarez is great, but surely not a £50m man. He is temperamental, hates living in England and could easily break or be in court for the usual charge for macho pro football players.
This transfer will not happen, has any other club this season messed around when bidding for their main transfer target? Every major club has just went in with realistic price and either been successful with a first or second bid or met a buyout clause. With LFC already claiming they do not want to sell Suarez and especially not to a champions league place challenger, does Wenger really think that by making unrealistic bids is going to motivate LFC to selling their main player? I think Wenger needs to focus on realistic transfer targets and strengthen his squad before THFC, CFC, MUFC and MCFC run away with the top four spots, with LFC, EFC and SC AFC all putting decent squads together for next season.

..It is really a hot saga because Luis Suarez is not more worthy £55m as been said by Lfc boss Bredan Rodgers.
We will bid for Fellaini apparently he is a target of ours, Wenger wont meet their valuation or we will be outbid…..oh and we will drag it out a week or two so our fans can get excited only to be let down at the end of it.
