Valencia are weighing up a move for Olivier Giroud, according to Valencia-based radio station Cadena Ser.
With Roberto Soldado seemingly set to join Spurs, subject to both clubs agreeing a fee for the 28-year-old, Valencia will be looking for a suitable replacement this summer.
Olivier Giroud, who contributed 17 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions last season, seems to have appeared on Valencia’s radar.
The French striker had a productive first season for The Gunners, but the 26-year-old may see less action in the upcoming campaign should Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of Luis Suarez be successful.
Personally, even if we do manage to acquire Suarez from Liverpool, we still need to keep hold of Giroud. Not only for squad depth but because he can offer us something different in the more physical matches, and his hold-up play is beneficial to our style of play.
I’m sure Wenger isn’t considering selling Giroud after one season at the club, a season he performed pretty well throughout.
Real Zaragoza’s Helder Postiga and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez are also being looked at by the La Liga club. One of these two look more likely to join Valencia than our Giroud.
Who are Valencia? Are they bigger than Arsenal? The fucking balls and Audacity they have to swagger in and say they want our star man. Reality check sorely needed for these midgety also-rans.
Oliver had already scored 6 goals in 4 matces I hope he will improve as the season goes on,so valencia find another faward Giroud is not for sale.
6 goals in 4 matches? They were friendly matches against medeoca opposition. I like Giroud and there’s no way he should be sold, but the friendlies in Asia/Japan, is not where Giroud should be judged.
