This Luis Suarez saga looks set to last the distance doesn’t it?
Liverpool are determined to keep hold of the 26-year-old by placing a £50 million price-tag on his head.
We have supposedly offered two bids for the Uruguay international, a £35 million one and then newly an audacious yet rather cheeky £40 million plus a £1. Both bids were turned down, with Brendan Rodgers now insisting his star man is worth at least £50 million after seeing Edinson Cavani join PSG for around £54-55 million from Napoli.
Despite the aggro he receives from the media here in England, Suarez appears keen to join Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s side can provide ultimately what he really desires – Champions League football.
It’s been reported that we are preparing to go as high as £42.5 million, but this will almost certainly be rejected by the Merseyside club.
We all know of Suarez’s quality, as well as his controversial behaviour, but is he really worth £50 million?
Well with the way the transfer market is these days, £50 million isn’t too bad for a player of Suarez’s calibre to be honest.
It looks like a lot of money and I’m surprised we are still actually chasing him. But what is £50 million to a club with financial stability like Arsenal? We could easily afford to splash this out on the Uruguayan and still have some cash left in the kitty to bring in other recruits.
The fact is if you want top players you have to spend top dollar to get them, and Suarez is undoubtedly one of the most prolific forwards in world football today who would certainly take us to the next level.

I don’t think Wenger and arsenal are series on this, Suarez is better than Cavani or Falcao IMO , If Liverpool value him 50/55M you cannot argue with that,its thier right, Wenger’s and arsenal’s record signing at arsenal stands at 15/16M for casorla, don’t think they are really ready to splash 50M for one player, its not in their DNA, LFC are reluctant to sell their top scorer to another EPL club, I’am sure any bid arsenal put will be rejected. If Real comes in with 40,000,002 bid Suarez will be playing in Spain next season, Wenger already lost the boat for Higuain, rooney and I think he will lose this one too
Im ashamed to say that while Wenger is incharge we will never come close to spending this amount in the whole window let alone on one player, if Liverpool dont make as many mistakes as last year they will finish above us and so will Spurs if they spend good money. Would not be surprised if we finish outside top4 next season as we cant attract anyone with our no trophy profit making attitude
I agree with you, lets look at our mission this season of winning a trophy. 50 million does not equate to our goal. Pay for the guy and let us have our glory once again. Wenger is a disciplinarian he can handle Suarez anyway. Put this talk about financial stability in practice ,so walk the talk

Is Wenger worth £7.5 million a year ? Absolutely NO – Suarez will earn his money and justify his transfer fee. Wenger on the other hand does nothing for his ridiculous salary. The sooner he leaves the better. He is too arrogant and stupid to not realise that he should have moved on years ago – a true example of a manager past his best…

Something about this stinks. The longer it goes on the more i’m against it. I just know he’s gonna mug us off at the last minute and make us look like fools. And I just can’t get my head around wenger spending 50 million on a player its just not going to happen. we should be focusing on bringing in a dm and a keeper. Maybe try and get Bernard for out on the left and bring podolski into the middle if we cant find a top striker..Im just worried about being caught with our pants down when suarez lets us down…
Suarez wont join us he isnt that stupid, he wants out of england and he wants to win trophies and play in the champions league (the good bit, not the group stages and quaters) Its so embarrasing to see our fans creaming themselves thinking we got a chance of signing him when we havent. Very true, ^^^Wenger KNOWS now that LFC are not going to let Suarez on the cheap, He knows LFC will not consider any offer less than 50M so why is he and arsenal upping their bids by a pound or by a million , If he really wants Suarez he should 0ffer 50,000,001 at least and than maybe he’ll get his buisness going, But I doubt he will , as said in mypreviuos post, I am convinced that as soon as Madrid come calling Suarez will want to go there, and he will dump,wenger,arsenal and the emirates
Suarez will most probably end up at Madrid the only other clubs he would join are Bayern or Psg to team up with Cavani. I am seriously concerned that if we dont strengthen the team this season we could end up in trouble as other teams around us have. Wenger is playing a dangerous game and im hoping his stubborn attitude does not finally knock up out of top 4. Im worried

Suarez is not worth £50m,4me I actually value him @£25m.Suarez’s value shouldn’t b compared with those of both Varvani& Falcao because of his indiscipline.His marketability interms of sales from him to the club will b minimal& what arsenal will benefit from him is only& only football talent& nothing else.I am an Arsenal fan bt I don’t want an inflated deal for Suarez to exceed Wenger’s pricetag of £40m.Wenger should buy us a GP,CB,DM & may b a cheap top striker at like £30m.with that Silverware will b in our hands
Suarez is a genius on the field and would still sell millions of shirts, and IS actually worth 50million. If he came to us we would be challenging for the title, shame we are to tight and Wenger is to stupid to see it.
Luis suarez is one of the best strkers now, better than cavani and falcao and its worth £50m, wenger should splash the cash on him cos its that player with potentials and quality
wenger should sign swarez now and add one or two players and the squad will b stronger to put formidable title challenge

Lowballing big names with amounts you know will be rejected so you can say you tried isn’t the way to do business.Stop pursuing Suarez if your interest isn’t genuine. Swap Gervinho for Osvaldo. You can have Bernard and MF for the price of Suarez but you need to be swift.
We are a Laughing stock to Liverpool with our stupid £1 bid over 40m. What the hell was that about. Also wenger saying we can challenge for the title with the squad we have is quite honestly making me feel sick with worry that we wont spend at all
