This Luis Suarez saga looks set to last the distance doesn’t it?
Liverpool are determined to keep hold of the 26-year-old by placing a £50 million price-tag on his head.
We have supposedly offered two bids for the Uruguay international, a £35 million one and then newly an audacious yet rather cheeky £40 million plus a £1. Both bids were turned down, with Brendan Rodgers now insisting his star man is worth at least £50 million after seeing Edinson Cavani join PSG for around £54-55 million from Napoli.
Despite the aggro he receives from the media here in England, Suarez appears keen to join Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s side can provide ultimately what he really desires – Champions League football.
It’s been reported that we are preparing to go as high as £42.5 million, but this will almost certainly be rejected by the Merseyside club.
We all know of Suarez’s quality, as well as his controversial behaviour, but is he really worth £50 million?
Well with the way the transfer market is these days, £50 million isn’t too bad for a player of Suarez’s calibre to be honest.
It looks like a lot of money and I’m surprised we are still actually chasing him. But what is £50 million to a club with financial stability like Arsenal? We could easily afford to splash this out on the Uruguayan and still have some cash left in the kitty to bring in other recruits.
The fact is if you want top players you have to spend top dollar to get them, and Suarez is undoubtedly one of the most prolific forwards in world football today who would certainly take us to the next level.

Is any footballer worth £50m? Of course not but just likw anything else nowadays prices are spiralling out of control. The other day I was in a pub. The cheapezt thing on the menu was a plate of chips at £6.95. Now I’m not tight but I remember buying a bag of chips for 3p in the 1970s and whilst these £7 chipps were nicely presented they didn’t taste half as good and there was about a quarter of the portion. Oh by the way I washed the chips down with a £6 pint of lager. I felt raped and pillaged. £13 for chips and a pint! £50m for a racist vampire what has the world come to?

1. Buy Bernard for 20m and push Podolski inward.
2. Buy Ferllaini or Bendar for 24m.
3. Buy Williams or any other good alternative CB for 12m
4. Buy Cesar for 1.5m
5. Recoup some 10 to 12m from the sale of Manone and
Gervino(though as a Nigerian I’d be sad to see him go)

Suarez to arsenal would be a big mistake as they need more in midfield than wilshire and require a new back line to challenge. Podolski giroud and carzola is enough in attack and gervinho has more to offer. Dont get me wrong if cavanni and falco go for +£50m suarez is a snip at £50m. They are great goal scorers but dont create their own. Suarez makes his own goals and has a shed load of assists too there are two better players about Messi and Ronaldo, Bale falls behind these 3. But if Arsenal have £70m and spend £45-£50m on Suarez they wont have the funds to build the team behind and could finish outside the top 4.
Spot on.but i think arsene wil not buy any needed player who will strenghten our squad.he(arsene)and the board are only planting a seed of excuse.so that when the transfer window finally shuts,they will meet us fans and tell us we wanted sign higuain,suarez,jovetic etc but their clubs didnt want to sell them to us.if i may ask,is it not wenger who said in january that when a top,top,top player becomes available we will buy.now is it messi or cr7 he was referring to if these players we are loosing out to other teams are not some of the top players.

I advise Arsene to do it quickly before he becomes 100 million. He is definitely a quality dude who can be self reliant when occasion demands, and can score single handedly. If he can do such wonders in a team like Liverpool, how much can he do in a more creative attack team like Arsenal?
Liverpool created more goal scoring opportunities than Arsenal last season and only scored one goal less overall. Liverpool only really had Suarez until Sturridge signed half way through the season, with Carroll being shipped off and Borini injured. Please do your research before making stupid comments! Trying to be respectful on another clubs website I completely agree that an old Arsenal would have been a lot more creative, but the way your side is set up now with the exception of Carzola is a lot more direct. I hope you sign quality players you need because I would rather be in the Champions League spot with Arsenal than a MUFC or Chelsea.
Just to add to that I really hope you do sign Suarez, but as you can see the bid of £40m + £1 has been a complete waste of time. Suarez hasn’t handed in a transfer request, flown off to England to have talks or the bid hasn’t triggered any clause of selling him. If AFC is realistic of buying Suarez and he want to sign for AFC I don’t think LFC would even consider a bid under £55m and the difference with the Cavani £55m and Suarez is that Cavani had a buy out clause Suarez doesn’t with 3 years left on his contract. Myself personally would bite your hand off for £55m and sign Luis Muriel for £15-£20m with £35-£40m left to strengthen our squad. This is just a comment from a LFC fans perspective, read and agree or disagree just don’t take it to seriously!

Then go support Dortmund. You’ll never be a true supporter, no matter who you support. A real fan supports his team through hell and back. I hate our transfer policy and not very fond of wenger, but I’ll stand by the team even if we get relegated. Which would never happen. Look were we are every year with the team we have… give the some credit and support them like a real fan.
