Cash in on RVP and fund a move for this guy Wenger!

|

Well I’m pretty sure I’m going to get slated by people in the comments section no matter whatever happens! So without further-ado, the question I will be looking to answer is – should Arsenal cash in on Robin van Persie and aim to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani?

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis announced he’s open to the idea of selling Cavani, who is a prime target for fat-cats Chelsea and Manchester City.

In present time, Arsenal haven’t been linked with a move for the Uruguayan, but we could be in a position to try and sign the forward if Manchester United decide to offer us £25 million for RVP, which in my view would be foolish to turn down.

Van Persie turned 29 the other day so any move away from Arsenal would probably be his last big one, especially given his injury history. There are a lot of Arsenal fans who rightly don’t want to see the club sell him, especially not to another Premier League outfit, and again there are some fans who just want the saga to be over as soon as possible and don’t care where the Dutchman ends up.

If Arsenal do decide to cash in on Van Persie then they would be taking a risk. The risk being that he decides to have another season like he did last year and it all backfires on us.

However, there is also the gamble of if we keep him then he could have another one of his less successful seasons, pick up an injury and obviously lose him for nothing next summer.

Personally, I think we should just sell him, as I do not think he will perform anywhere nearly he did last season. Besides, he’s 29 and if we get £20-25 million for him then that would be great.

We have already bolstered our front-line with the acquisitions of Lukas Podolski and Oliver Giroud, so why not get rid of RVP if he wants to leave.

We also still have Theo Walcott and Gervinho who could both come into their own this season, but my gut feeling is that if Van Persie leaves then Theo may be close behind him.

So should Arsenal cash in on Van Persie? Probably. As I mentioned earlier, it would be taking a big risk but equally why should we know recoup a hefty amount and reinvest in someone like Cavani.

A move for Cavani would show the club’s intent to get back to the top and would certainly lift the fans if RVP goes. But I honestly cannot see the move happening. Are we realistically going to be able to match the wages that City or Chelsea are likely to offer a player who has scored 64 goals in two seasons? I doubt it.

But I think getting around £20 million for a 29-year-old forward would be good, especially if Arsenal decide to reinvest it elsewhere in the squad.

One thing is certain the next 21 days are going to be full of twists and turns, but whatever happens I’ll be backing The Gunners as always.

Cash in on RVP and try to bring in Cavani this summer?

Why cant we sell RVP to Man U? Who said that RVP will have another season like the last one? Who said RVP will be fit for more than half the season? If we can get Cavani otherwise Lewandowiski

Arsenal as much as it is a football club, it is also a company. We should as fans learn to love the football club and not the player. RVP is getting to the age where we should sell him if he has decided that he wants to leave, because we won’t make any money from him once he is above 30 and can only be offered a 1 year contract (Wengers Policy). It is advisable for Wenger to keep him because he is at his peak and I do not expect it too last long, however, if he was to keep him this will be his last prolific season. He’s been terrific for 8 years even with injuries and his first full year almost broke the record for most goals in a year and then went on to score more goals to become the leagues and arsenals top scorer this season. From Arsene’s point you can see why he want to hold him to his contract. Robin is a complete player and needs to excel in other league if he wants to be known amongst the world’s best perhaps win a trophy else where, he should be free to go by January transfer window if he is not performing even for as little as 5m we will still be making some profit on his head considering how much we paid for him.

As I mentioned earlier arsenal is a company and we do not have the money to buy or pay for such players you people keep demanding and suggesting

Why don’t we just support the ones we have and get behind our favourite club truly our future is bright but some are just to blind to realise.

    In Arseene we trust

It will leave a sour taste in the mouths of many of us seeing RVP wearing Man U shirt either fit or not. I know what the feeling will be among Man U fans if their best player- Rooney should be sold to Arsenal. I believe Eergerson will never allow it.

  • Adah says:

RVP- REST VERY PEACEFULLY- WHEREVER U GO. BUT WHATEVER IS UR REASONS FOR LEAVING ALWAYS HAVE IT @ THE BACK OF YOUR MIND THAT U WERE THE UNKNOWN GUY B/4 WE GUNNED FOR U. U MADE URSELF A LAUGHING STOCK BY UR VERBAL OUTRAGE. IF U THINK U WILL DO A ROONEY THEN LOOK BACK @ OUR RECORDS OF HOW WE WELCOME PLAYERS AND DISCARD THEM WHEN THEY WANT TO BE LORDS OF MANOR. IN ESSENCE NO ONE CAN HOLD US RAMSOME.

Hello Podolski, Giroud, Walcott, OX, Cazorla, Ramsey, Diaby, Gnarby, Eisfeld, Rosicky, Gervinho Arshavin. We have so many attacking options. Our formation is 4-5-1 so people shouting for another striker if RVP goes are off the mark. Wenger has done the right thing investing on a truly talented attacking midfielder CAZORLA to fill in the goals that will surely be missing in RVP’s absence. Just like Fabregas did before he left. We need to buy a right back! Sagna is still injured and Jenkinson although promising is not yet ready, it seems like djourou is staying so we have 4 centre backs plus song. Stacks of midfielders and 5 or six options in attack.

our squad is right up there lets be positive and get behind the team. COYG

I have a feeling RVP has played a very good “game” for arsenal supporters during this transfer season as he has squeezed some pounds from the bosses who have been hard nuts to crack for years.

He only said that the management wasn’t at par with his ideas not money which could have meant buying some quality players like what they have done other than relying on the nursery to support the first team. The business is being done and he is becoming happy again. You never know because we need him.

But why don’t these writers concentrate on players who should be sold like squillace, arshav, chamac, Djouro, Fabiasc, denelson, bertner etc instead of provoking us with Man U dreams every min?

Cavani would be great, but is way out of our reach due to other teams offering tastier wage packages, but we could always go for, llorente, huntelaar.
Or take a risk and use giroud and podolski as strickers.
The money could be used for a great DM or LB.

robin van persie is brilliant and a true leader however with vermalen and arteta and future captain wilsher i think we could cope wit rvp but im not sure i want him to leave espesially with a prem club like man u or man city we should dock the brice cus hes 29 and injury prone and 15mill isnt bad for a 29 year old i dont think we need another forward but barcas afellay looks good and he could easily fill in the boots of walcott if he dosent want to stay then let him go christian tello would also be a good asset but arsenal need a better player in the leftback position other than gibbs and santos and sagna is amazin but hes injured and jenkinson isnt good enough we need another righback backup a goalkeeper backup other than fabianski and get rid of djorou koscielney chamakh and park and bendtner they arnt good maybe let arshavin stay until the nex treansfer windo and see if he has improved sant cazorla is a beast hes only just behind fabregas and i think hes beter than nasri i hope arsenal can compete for trophies now fa cup maybe im not too confident on the prem but i think wee culd finish third and beat city next year ithink chelsea to win or man utd and arsenal behind and liverpool totenham and newcaastle

Did u jst say we shuld get rid of Koscielny? you must be a joke telling us to get rid of our best defender from the past season. Also, its good of you to actually predict that we wuld end up in 3rd, it shows how much of a good fan you are. Well for me being a die hard Arsenal fan, if we can finish 3rd last season despite how weak our team was, then i am sure of us going for the title with the fantastic players we have added to the existing squad.

    • val-gonna-breath-goonz says:

I still wonder what some idiots say on here, it keeps me pondering if people like you know what you are saying. Koscielny? Keep the f**k quiet and go suck some nipple, buffoon.
