Cash in on RVP and fund a move for this guy Wenger!

|

Well I’m pretty sure I’m going to get slated by people in the comments section no matter whatever happens! So without further-ado, the question I will be looking to answer is – should Arsenal cash in on Robin van Persie and aim to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani?

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis announced he’s open to the idea of selling Cavani, who is a prime target for fat-cats Chelsea and Manchester City.

In present time, Arsenal haven’t been linked with a move for the Uruguayan, but we could be in a position to try and sign the forward if Manchester United decide to offer us £25 million for RVP, which in my view would be foolish to turn down.

Van Persie turned 29 the other day so any move away from Arsenal would probably be his last big one, especially given his injury history. There are a lot of Arsenal fans who rightly don’t want to see the club sell him, especially not to another Premier League outfit, and again there are some fans who just want the saga to be over as soon as possible and don’t care where the Dutchman ends up.

If Arsenal do decide to cash in on Van Persie then they would be taking a risk. The risk being that he decides to have another season like he did last year and it all backfires on us.

However, there is also the gamble of if we keep him then he could have another one of his less successful seasons, pick up an injury and obviously lose him for nothing next summer.

Personally, I think we should just sell him, as I do not think he will perform anywhere nearly he did last season. Besides, he’s 29 and if we get £20-25 million for him then that would be great.

We have already bolstered our front-line with the acquisitions of Lukas Podolski and Oliver Giroud, so why not get rid of RVP if he wants to leave.

We also still have Theo Walcott and Gervinho who could both come into their own this season, but my gut feeling is that if Van Persie leaves then Theo may be close behind him.

So should Arsenal cash in on Van Persie? Probably. As I mentioned earlier, it would be taking a big risk but equally why should we know recoup a hefty amount and reinvest in someone like Cavani.

A move for Cavani would show the club’s intent to get back to the top and would certainly lift the fans if RVP goes. But I honestly cannot see the move happening. Are we realistically going to be able to match the wages that City or Chelsea are likely to offer a player who has scored 64 goals in two seasons? I doubt it.

But I think getting around £20 million for a 29-year-old forward would be good, especially if Arsenal decide to reinvest it elsewhere in the squad.

One thing is certain the next 21 days are going to be full of twists and turns, but whatever happens I’ll be backing The Gunners as always.

Cash in on RVP and try to bring in Cavani this summer?

Pls mr Wenger do not allow Rvp to leave, but at de end of de day if he finally decides to go,then sale him but not for manchester united or any of our big arival in england, and reinvest de money for anoda striker like Lewandoski,Llorente or Cavani and by doing dis believe me we must be successful for dis season.Gunners till i die?

Selling Rvp to manchester united is like playing an attacking game without defense. We should be mindful of the improvement Rvp can take to Manchester should we sell him to bolster their team. As much as Rvp has annoyed arsenal and arsenal fans, he is a total footballer and not just a goal poacher. If we have to sell Rvp, then it has to be to a club outside England. Luckily, Arsene Wenger is a wise man and he will surely do the right thing moreso, that the Man u supporters are already celebrating before getting our captain. Rvp must not be the first player that Arsene Wenger will sell to that chewing gum loving gaffer.

If Persie is sold there won’t be a replacement as much as we’d want or feel we need one!!! I feel now Wenger will try and lose the deadwood like Vela and Squillaci who today have moved or close to moving on… If Song is sold and I pray to god that he isn’t but should he be sold a DM will arrive!! Other than that maybe a youngster such as Luke Shaw may come in… This is what I think anyways.
Giroud will become the main strike and Podolski with Walcott can play there two, Chamakh could stay!! Wish we had signed Vertonghen though, would have made it the perfect window!!

Arsenal manegment need to grow a pear and tell rvp song and wallcot that with them we can win a title that will meen somthing and wont be a title that was bought , and then make a statment to the press saying they are not for sale and if clubs keep tapping them up they will be punisht, because all this unknown crapp is killing the vibes of this team

I would prefer Falcao to cavani, his finishing is terrific & the last time i checked £25m – £30m can do, for RVP juve better even for £15m nt man.utd.ths idiot (fergie) was adamant to sell heinze to liverfool but wnts RVP, what does he take us for?

Dont we have our pride? Money is not everything you know. No matter the huge amount or attractive money Man U is ready to offer, many gooners like myself are of the opinion that we should not sell Vanpercie to red nose Fergerson.

Why,oh why does every transfer deal involving Arsenal take so long? Simple, Arsene Wengers control freak nature. RVP wants to leave, Mancs want to buy him, Arsenal want to sell him now because they will want to recoup some of the £40 million plus wages invested in the new players, so why doesn’t it happen? Next thing it will be the last week of the transfer window and he’ll still be with us because of Wenger, who this season said he wants all deals wrapped up asap.Same old thing every season, oh for a man like David Dein to get things done.

I couldn’t care less if van Persie were to leave right now.

Obviously he’d be a big miss, but what kind of message would Wenger be sending out to the rest of the team if he let’s van Persie (who was captain) stay, remain captain after his statement :S.

Wenger’s not being very strategic if he’s squeezing money out of United as whatever amount they pay us, they’d vastly improve which just makes it harder for Arsenal. I’d take whatever Juventus are offering as long as it’s over £13 million.

Buy Capoue, van der Wiel/Mbiwa and a mobile/technical striker

(Cavani would be too expensive and wouldn’t want to play second fiddle to Podolski or Giroud).
