West Brom’s impending relegation will cause all sorts of problems for the Baggies but Arsenal can take advantage, with Northern Irish defender Jonny Evans set to become available for just £3m- which is likely to send clubs into a frenzy.
Arsenal were linked with Evans during the January transfer window, along with Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola’s capture of Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao looks to have brought an end to that chase- leaving the Gunners as the leaders in the market.
Having just turned 30, Evans has a number of years ahead of him and can provide the perfect stop-gap between the immediate boost that Arsenal need and the years when Chambers and Holding will come into their prime.
