Jack WilshereManchester City are set to reignite their interest in Jack Wilshere after seeing their £40 million offer for Raheem Sterling turned down.

City are believed to be desperate to add ‘home-grown’ players to their squad this summer and Wilshere fits the bill.

The Telegraph yesterday claimed the deposed Premier League champions are ready to offer an initial £30 million for the 23-year-old midfielder, but are also considering the possibility of throwing in an out-of-favour player into the deal. Either Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic or Alvaro Negredo could be offered to the Gunners in the early stages of negotiations to try and land Wilshere, whose status at Arsenal remains in doubt.

The England international has found it difficult to feature in the Arsenal side since the emergence of Francis Coquelin into the starting XI at the start of the year, not to mention he missed the whole of December, January and March due to injury. To add to this, Arsene Wenger left him out of the starting line-up for the FA Cup final against Aston Villa last month, and is reportedly keen to add another midfielder to the squad this summer, meaning Wilshere’s challenge to get back into the side has become a lot harder.

Wilshere did, however, offer Arsenal fans hope that he will remain at the Emirates, but only if he is wanted at the club, ultimately, leaving his fate and future in Wenger’s hand.

Despite his behavioural issues off the pitch, which hasn’t helped his cause in anyway, Wilshere has become a valuable member of the squad and is adored by the Emirates faithful for his hatred towards Spurs.

I’m a City fan and don’t want him but who listens to the fans. I don’t want Sterling either and most of the guys who go to the games with me think the same.

Sorry but in this day and age Wilshere is worth £60m at the least. If Liverpool value Sterling at £50m after one good season and 5pur2 value Kane at £50m then Jack has to be worth more he is proven when fit and anything less than £60m plus one of their best players is an insult. Honestly after everything they have done to us from adebayour to Sanga we should cut off all ties of doing business with them! Jack is a gooner and it is going to stay that way as we are a club on the verge of greatness again.

you just took the words outta my mind. so on point. £60m or no deal

The three City players mentioned are all worth more than Jack because they are proven goalscorers. £60 Million for a glass footballer with attitude? You’re joking mate.

I really don’t think its in the interest of Arsenal to push Jack to MC for whatever amt. Stop training players only to sell them off. There are many competitions in a season and Jack will be needed at some point. What has happened to Bac Sagna?

It is good to be sentimentally attached to one’s beloved. But it’s at the same time better to be objective an be realistic in our decision makings. Jack Wilshere is an Arsenal and England top player who is well adorn by the Gooners and the 3 lions fans. Despite he’s being prone to getting injured repeatedly over the years, the Boss has continue to keep him at Arsenal because the Boss is not a dumpper of a Gunner because of injuries happening to the Gunner. He helps them to recover from their injuries and get them back fitness. All because of the initial believe he has on the Gunner talent. Jack Wilshere is hugely talented but injury prone. And he has all along being a smoker or has developed an insatiable taste for smoking at sometimes which is at variance to the ethical principles and code of conduct of the Boss for his Gunners. Jack Wilshere has flauted this code of conduct time and time again. I am of the believe that, if Jack is sold, it could be for him indiscipline track records of smoking. I will not be surprised if Szczesny also falls under the hammer of the Boss as he could sent him out on loan for a spell to teach him a lesion.

No chance. Bet Wenger won’t buy another center midfielder for next season. Currently he focused on GK and striker.

Jack Wilshere to man city ? What have the press boyz been smoking ? Whatever it is if it causes delusion in their mind i for one want none of it
Jack is not injury prone as some would make us believe, he has been the recipient of some bad/horrific tackles unlike sicknote Anderton who would pull up for no reason then get fit for the majors i.e Euro’s and world cup.
Jack, Walcott, the ox, ramsey and gibbs should not b for sale at any cost. Has anyone considered what that does to our British quota’s ? And by the way i guarantee you by the time Jack is 26 he would be one of the best in the world.
Would b a terrible mistake to sell him and watch him blossom elsewhere.

GOD bless everyone who is in support of Jack-Wilshere staying put. I’m of the opinion that it will be foolhardy to let our ‘JEWEL’ of ‘INESTIMABLE’ value go to Man-Shitty sorry ‘Man-City.’ They are hell-bent on bringing disunity into the ‘GOONERS’ family and this we should never allow to happen…. Like some of my amiable colleagues rightly put it, only an asking fee from the region of £60,000,000pounds plus, will we even listen and that will include Man City giving us a David-Silva or Sergio-Aguero in part exchange. PERIOD!
