Time for Wenger to step up his chase for this powerful midfielder?

Marouane FellainiArsenal have one month to sign Marouane Fellaini for £23.5 million.

Fellaini has been a subject of interest for The Gunners this summer but only have until August 14th to trigger the midfielder’s buy-out clause.

The Belgian still has three years remaining on his Everton deal. But should no club trigger his release clause before the expiry date, the Merseyside club will demand more than £30 million for the 25-year-old.

So knowing the details of his release clause and when it expires, should Arsenal step up their interest in Fellaini? Almost certainly they should.

To be honest, I’m surprised we haven’t already activated the clause. £23 million for a powerful midfielder, one with Premier League experience, is a no-brainer in my opinion. And if we are prepared to give Liverpool over £30 million for Luis Suarez, why haven’t we tabled a bid for Fellaini?

Wenger now has one month to decide whether or not he wants to add a ‘quality player’ he keeps going on about for, what is now perceived as a ‘small fee’.

Fellaini would be an excellent signing and for £23.5 million would be seen as a bargain in the current market. I for one would be annoyed if we don’t at least make an effort to attain his signature.

I agree with you 100% and i don’t know who is a head of transfers at this club and if we win all our pre-season games we ‘ll hear that ‘we have a good squad’ to compete. If Arsenal do not sign a Suarez or Higuain, Fellaini a CB and a goalkeeper believe you me we won’t win anything. GUNNERZ 4 LIFE.

Because Wenger never approached Everton for Fellaini’s services to begin with.
The Fellaini story came from the media after Gazidis adressed the press and told them that Arsenal can now by any player. Ever since the media has gone crazy linking Arsenal with any player from Higuain to Rooney even Cesc. So give this story a break it’s getting boring now. Wenger will sign who he wants at a bargain price once more.

Lars bender can be more ideal addition than felaini because of style of play, though felaini is a world class player any way

He wont sign anyplayer worthwile.just average player from leagu 1 or 2 then pretend wiiiii traaaaaiiiiid zeeeey waaaaa nooot selliiiiing.win anything not even 4th thistime

It’s clear for the past 8 seasons we lack bite and steel in the midfield and if wenger will not buy Felaini then in my opinion he is not a manager arsenal need. If as manager is unable to resolve a problem 8 seasons old he isn’t worthy. But I believe he won’t buy anyone who can make a difference he will wait for Felaini Rooney higuain Suarez to be picked up by other clubs and say we tried but in the end there was no quality. I also get the feeling he probably has a mental problem where he just can’t seem to buy proven players and needs to shop at the maternity ward

And he won’t change til he goes, he has become a cancer at the club, and he has made us a laughing stock with his interviews, his tippy tappy predictable style of football, his arrogance, his ignorance of the defence problems we have, selling our best players every season except this season as we have no one really to sell for a profit

  • Uzoo timevarist says:

If wenger is looking for a cheap buy, both luis gustavo and ikay gundogan are denfensive midfield maestros and robot passers of the ball and relatively cheaper as well..wenger should stop his cut and join delay tactics and get us a world-class defensive midfielder now.

Webber is a great Soccer coach for young boys: but he has the inability to coach or manage a team of fully grown – mature- (27-33) soccer players. So he will always buy young impressionable footballers – “YES” players.

  • Lennox chiphazi says:

If you are really a gunner it hurts so much seeing our team doing nothing while other teams are busy beefing up their squad with good talented players some of them were our targets, we will end up signing cheap and young players who are not matured, we are tired of waiting give us some hope of confidence Mr Wenger

  • PaulB says:

Why listen to all the spin from Wenger the clown, ST were up for renewal and a lot of fans sent them back, all this talk about a long waiting list is rubbish, players will only come to Arsenal on the cheap and to use us as a stepping stone, Wenger hasn’t got a clue any more and it will be a groundhog season again. Lower your expectations and look forward to finishing above the Enfield mob, forget the CC and the FA Cup, the CL is a money spinner with us progressing no further than group stages, the PL is out of contention, we are not the force we were and we will not be until Wenger the madman goes. Now the buffoon wants to stay on as no other club will take him, he has been found out. Profit before trophies and Wenger earning more money than Fergie when he was at the Munich bunch.

  • bluff then bulk says:

Yes, this is getting boring now.
Wenger did say that arsenal are looking to sign 1 or 2 players towards the end of the transfer window.
So its best to stop dreaming about a world class signing…. News just in….. Arsenal have beat the mickey mouse all stars 7nil… so we don’t need any new signings lol.
