Julio CesarJulio Cesar looks set to seal a season-long loan deal to Napoli, rather than join Arsenal from QPR.

The 33-year-old Brazilian has been told by Harry Redknapp that he can leave the Loftus Road outfit following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Cesar has previously stated that he would like to remain in London, but it appears the experienced shot-stopper is ready to go back to Italy and play under Rafa Benitez at Napoli.

Many Arsenal fans will be wondering how Arsene Wenger didn’t manage to capture Cesar’s signature, and Simon Johnson, a reporter for the London Evening Standard, reckons the Frenchman may regret not following up his interest in the Brazil international, claiming he would have been the ideal signing:

‘I can’t believe Arsenal have allowed Juilo Cesar to slip through their fingers because, for me, he was just the ideal signing.

‘I would have put him ahead of Wojciech Szczesny and let Szczesny learn off a top pro for a few years.’

To be honest, I too can’t believe we haven’t managed to get our hands on him. Cesar seemed keen to stay in London and we were heavily linked with him in the last few weeks – it looked like a done deal to me.

Unless Wenger has someone else in mind, it looks like we will have to rely on the brash Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski this season.

Arsenal have been linked with too many big names this tranfer season and will not be suprise if at the close of transfer non is signed,it has happened over the years,in fact I make bold to say it has been a tradition over the years, yet we hear of the big transfer money he is given. He better sign now to avoid the last minute rush he is known with.

wow…how is it that wenger now is a person who likes to spend late? He did that only once and that now defines the type of person he is? I’m starting to doubt if any of you have been supporters of this club before 2011!!!

So far it is just disappointing. No one seems to be coming in. I cannot stand looking that Man U may now try and get Cesc, and we have first refusal. I know that could mean anything ,but it would be worse then Van Persie going there if Cesc went. We see all the print about Higuian, Suarez, that is nice but what about another class midfielder, or another defender, and not even nibbling at Julio Cesar who has been doing it big for the Selecao…touring Indonesia? Asia..yea alot of fans over there, but we only so far have a kid from France who has had fractures in his legs the last three years??? Helooked good in the U-20’s but still, another kid?? Very dissappointing, particularly right across tow yu have another American owner now who will spend unlike Silent Stan…Hope I am wrong but this looks like the same old, same old..
