Is he just pulling the wool over our eyes?

|

Luis SuarezAs you may have heard, we are tracking Luis Suarez and, reportedly, placed an opening £30 million bid for the Uruguayan last week which was turned down by Liverpool.

The Merseyside club have said they will not consider anything less than £40 million for the striker and reports now claim Arsenal are ready to up their bid to £35 million.

When asked about a potential move for the 26-year-old, Arsene Wenger replied:

‘Suarez? As you all know, the transfer period demands secrets and confidentiality, so I am not going to answer that question.’

Now I don’t know about you guys but can you really see Wenger fork out £40 million for one single player? I honestly can’t and I think this is all a ploy to build up our hopes of actually seeing Suarez in an Arsenal shirt this season for the Frenchman to come out at the end of the the transfer window and say ‘I gave it a go’.

Wenger may be pulling the wool over some people’s eyes, but not mine.

The fact is this deal will not come to fruition because if Wenger really wanted him then he would have tabled the required amount to Liverpool for Suarez already, not up his bid and still fall short of the Uruguayan’s value.

Totally agree, these bids we have supposedly made for players who are not for sale or falls short of their valuation , Wenger will then be able to tell us all the club made approaches but we were unable to get them to sell. Same old and we end up with half dozen average players again

Well if this is the case then Higuain has showed us the ugly side of transfer’s. To dangle a carrot in front of a well respected football club then to take it away is simply wrong. We all know how underhanded agents can be, now it seems as if players can be very manipulative as well. If Higuain really wanted to come to Arsenal the deal would have been done weeks ago. So i suggest Arsene looks elsewhere in the transfer market, as it looks as if he is being used persuing the wrong man in Higuain.

I think AW would a great poker player because he is always bluffing typical. If you really wanr some one u pay the price not squabble about 2 mil.

  • Tonero says:

I saw it coming, we won’t pay 25m for higuain and someone is telling me wenger will pay 40m for suarez. till wenger leaves, we will win nothing under wenger. He should leave. He doesn’t know what he is doing. I’m not saying anything else for now till the transfer window closes.

All this CRA- that wenger has nearly £100 mill to spend is nonsense more like £100.We need a manager who will come in not be like wenger who is all for the club and shareholders ETC,ETC,ETC but someone who is all for the supporters, fans etc.
A manager who will chase players and not be scared to pay the price for world class players, not like wenger who likes his second division french players who we never hear of.
I it wasnt for the supporters who have season tickets, supporters go to home games were the f–k would the board and staff, manger be then? up the creek without a paddle.
i live in northern ireland and dont even bother going over to matches anymore coz wenger is a f—–g joke,8 years and no trophies he should off been sacked long long ago.So he his all talk i bet his wife would do a better job managing us coz she wears the trousers :).

      Agreed.
I used to wait on every Saturday like a kid waiting for Christmas but now after Santa leaving me f**k all for 8 yrs I can see where this is going.
The best paid staff member at Arsenal is Wenger and his constant missing of open transfer window goals is too much, time to go…
      Taxi for Wenger…

I agree that it’s wool over our eyes! When he had Luis to pick for less than $12m did he? It’s a diversion tactic that he/management have been using over the years. At the end we will say “they have tried their best!”.

Love the way arsene getting stick find a manager out dere dat cud do a better job…… Open your eyes hes the best thing to happen to arsenal fc

  • Mike says:

Liverpool never said they would only listen if it’s £40 mil. The media as is always, is setting prices for players. Having said that, I don’t think this deal will go through.

I don’t know why arsenal fans are being so pessimistic, its still early days in the transfer window and some people still feel Wenger won’t spend.! Frankly, there’s no hiding place for him this season, he’s under intense pressure to spend and he’s gonna spend…I’m no wenger fan tho, I’m very optimistic we will sign “World Class” players…Patience is all it requires.!

    • mesfin says:

Yes the transfer window is long way togo .this is my fear, he is going to come out and say we tried hard but we can’t find quality player that chang our team
