Do Arsenal need to be more decisive in the market?

Arsene WengerThere’s still a long way to go until the summer transfer window closes. But already some sections of the Arsenal faithful are starting to wonder whether or not their side will see some top quality players come in.

Despite being linked with an array of talent, such as Gonzalo Higuain and newly Luis Suarez, Wenger has yet only managed to sign France Under-21 international striker Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre on a free – a player many, if not all Arsenal fans has never even heard of.

And it starting to look like we will be facing a similar type of transfer window from the one we saw last summer if Wenger and co. don’t pull their finger out and act move decisively in the market.

Already we have seen a few of our reported targets opt elsewhere rather than The Emirates, and former Gunner Perry Groves believes the club must move quicker if they want to sign their targets this summer.

Quoted on talkSPORT.com, Groves said:

‘The longer you leave it, the more other teams come in for those players. I want a bit more decisiveness from Arsenal.’

Like I said, there are still seven weeks left to make signings, and anything can happen from now until the end of August. However, Wenger must realize that time waits for no man, and the Frenchman, as well as the board, need to pick up the pace and stop dillydallying around. If Arsenal want a player then they should tie up the deal quickly before other teams become interested in them.

From what I gather some Arsenal insiders have begun to complain that the club cannot multi-task very well. One transfer at a time. On that basis I do not believe any of Suarez, Fellaini, Higuaine, Capoue, Rooney etc will arrive at Arsenal. I don’t even think we have bid for anybody. We will be told they tried hard but couldn’t sign any of the big signings we wanted. Unlike the days of David Dein when he would pre-empt and meet the players he wanted, Gazidis and Wenger do not do this. Sanogo was an anomaly, whom Wenger did meet, to convince Sanogo to join. I expect a last minute panic again and a defender and a goalie to be signed. When you have the oldest board in football plus a Chief Executive like Gazidis, who does not do what David Dein used to in by personally meeting and enthusing our signings.

I think wenger has a problem, he should know that he be judges by the trophies he won and not the money he saved. Other manager crying for money to be spent and he is saying he wants quality if so then stop talking and start by paying up or else we be left with crumbles.

That is true, i don’t know why Arsenal they play delaying tactics in the transfer almost half of their targets they have opted to go to the other teams, Arsenal can buy 20 players in one window through rumours but it comes to done deals they can only manage 1 or 2 players. GUNNERZ 4 LIFE.

I’m sure it’s not easy, but it looks like our transfer team couldn’t buy a bag of snow in the North Pole. By the time they’ve passed it back and forth dithering and trying to buy it cheap it would have melted away a lot like our so called targets this summer. Please, please prove me wrong and sign someone we can get excited about watching next season.

Let me see if I got this right. Wenger had money available to him in the January transfer window ,but didn’t spend it because there was no one available and asking prices were to high( except for Monreal) . Now he has 70 million to spend ( allegedly) but he’s going to hold on to some of those funds or “keep the powder dry” according to Gazidis ,just in case somebody becomes available in January. Even though Wenger and Gazidis both have said in the past that January is the worst time to buy a player because prices are inflated . Oh the masters of double talk!

Cant believe we havent julio cesar 1.5 millon pounds is pocket change these days and he worth at double that?!
