AbateRumour has it that Arsenal are eyeing up a summer move for Ignazio Abate.

The AC Milan right-back has just one-year left to run on his current deal at the San Siro and with no signs of extending his stay or the club offering him a new deal, the Italian may well consider a move away in the upcoming weeks.

Arsene Wenger would be wise to keep tabs on Abate’s situation at Milan as Bacary Sagna’s future at The Emirates still looks uncertain.

Earlier reports suggested Abate could become available for around £8 million and if this proves to be the case, then Arsenal should definitely consider making a move for the 26-year-old.

Abate possesses great pace, stamina and loves to get forward as well as having defensive nous.

The Italy international would be a great signing for us. He would suit our style of play perfectly and would be an instant replacement for Sagna, should the Frenchman depart.

Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks, this develops into something a little more concrete and we see a bid tabled!
