Surely it’s time for him to go?

|

Abou DiabyIt was inevitable to happen again, wasn’t it? Yes, Abou Diaby has yet again picked up another injury, this time ruling him out of action for NINE months after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training. Surely, it is time for Arsene Wenger to get rid of the Frenchman.

The 26-year-old has probably spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch since joining Arsenal from Auxerre back in 2006, and just when you think he has overcome his injury problems, another arises.

This news will no doubt frustrate many of the Arsenal faithful, including myself. Not because he is a key entity in our side (which he isn’t, in my opinion) but because you could just see the lanky midfielder picking up another big knock which will see him miss a chunk of the current season. And of course it has happened.

Don’t get me wrong, I do feel sorry for the man, however, we cannot rely on him to conquer his injury problems – clearly he is an injury-prone player (sustaining 19 injuries to date) and Wenger must seriously consider the France international’s future at the club after he recovers from his injury because he’s just getting paid to go see the physio! However, Arsene will have to wait until next year to do so now, which is even more frustrating!

Diaby himself even stated a few months back that this will be a make-or-break season for him at Arsenal, sadly for him it’s the latter of the two.

Sorry Abou but your luck has run out.

Time to say goodbye to Diaby?

this is the same thing that happened with van persie and i remember the insult wenger got for giving him his last contract. its quite sad that some here including the writer of this article have decided to be ignorant. when van persie’s ‘glass legs’ healed, the same fans who slated him for being injury prone, begged him to extend his contract. such a shame that most arsenal fans never learn.

I’m a big fan of Diaby. But his injuries are a liability we can’t cope with anymore. He’s only ever managed to put a run of 10 games together which to date is his longest run. EVER. What good does it do if a player with bags of talent is rarely available… As sad as it will be to seem him leave maybe its time for him to hang up his boots before all these injuries cause even greater damage to his body…

I’d say keep him, support him but don’t depend on him when he’s fit. He’s a good player no doubt but his injuries have overshadowed his talent to the fact that people forget what he’s capable when he’s 100% fit. I say keep him as a squad player and get someone else that is capable of doing what he does but with a bit more steel. I’d rather keep him than him going somewhere else, getting over his injuries one day like persie did and becoming the player that we all hoped he would become. Better that than having some young kid in the squad that gets loaned out all the time.

i beg to differ with you Tony, Diaby is a top class midfielder, an all round midfielder. The injuries are too much and the best thing will be for him to leave, my patience has run out. He must leave
