Surely it’s time for him to go?

|

Abou DiabyIt was inevitable to happen again, wasn’t it? Yes, Abou Diaby has yet again picked up another injury, this time ruling him out of action for NINE months after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training. Surely, it is time for Arsene Wenger to get rid of the Frenchman.

The 26-year-old has probably spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch since joining Arsenal from Auxerre back in 2006, and just when you think he has overcome his injury problems, another arises.

This news will no doubt frustrate many of the Arsenal faithful, including myself. Not because he is a key entity in our side (which he isn’t, in my opinion) but because you could just see the lanky midfielder picking up another big knock which will see him miss a chunk of the current season. And of course it has happened.

Don’t get me wrong, I do feel sorry for the man, however, we cannot rely on him to conquer his injury problems – clearly he is an injury-prone player (sustaining 19 injuries to date) and Wenger must seriously consider the France international’s future at the club after he recovers from his injury because he’s just getting paid to go see the physio! However, Arsene will have to wait until next year to do so now, which is even more frustrating!

Diaby himself even stated a few months back that this will be a make-or-break season for him at Arsenal, sadly for him it’s the latter of the two.

Sorry Abou but your luck has run out.

Time to say goodbye to Diaby?

Have been saying it for years, dump him asap!!

at this point sadly i do think its time for him to be discounted from our first team thinking. i don’t think we’ll be able to move him on in the summer, when he’s going to be injured for the entirety of the transfer window. I don’t know his contract situation, but i suspect he’ll end up being one who leaves for free at the end of his current deal, playing a game or two here and there inbetween injuries before he goes.

I think crass articles like this are, practically insinuating this player is at fault for his injuries, have no respect for a player who had his career blighted by a horrific ankle break IN AN ARSENAL SHIRT! He doesn’t get injured playing golf or jet-skiing, he’s getting injured trying to play for our club, and a truly great talent has been broken from a violent tackle that has never allowed his body to fully recover.

It is pointless to say Arsenal should get rid of him. Of course they can’t keep a player who is injured, but it should never be forgotten that when he has played for Arsenal he has been outstanding and that his greatness will never be fulfilled due to injuries suffered playing for us. Any other comments are ignorant.

Good response, hate his website, talking about get rid of Gervinho and Diaby, when they play well everybody’s happy, but when they’re down this site kicks them.

Its not his fault, but any business will terminate the services of an employee who is no good for them. We can’t win the title with Diaby. So need to think long term. He is immensely rich to live comfortably for rest of his life.

    • chris from Cambridge says:

Plus his injuries of the last few years date back to that terrible assault on him by the young Sunderland maniac. Diaby has never been the same ever since.

    • Tony Merakli says:

@ John – you are deluded mate. Diaby been outstanding? What games you have you been watching. Fact is Diaby is injury-prone and will never play a full season for us. It’s not his fault he is picking up injuries, this is true. But we are paying him what £60k-a-week to visit Colin Lewin? He will clearly never get over his injury problems so Wenger should do something about Diaby. The player himself said he has to do something this year or his Arsenal career could be over! Don’t have a go at me for speaking my mind, if you don’t like what I have to say then don’t read it. Horses for courses.

  • Gunns says:

Truth be told, A Diaby has always been injury prone, it was that way before we signed him. Wenger took a risk in signing Diaby and it hasn’t worked out, I think its time to move on. Although I can almost envisage come January 2014, we’ll be hearing all about Diaby being ‘just like a new signing’!

  • atid says:

Seeing he is a millionaire taking money from supporters of whom some are surviving on benefits and can only hope their numbers come up on the lottery to dream of his lifestyle; diaby needs to show somr respect and review his contract accordingly. A basic wage plus a pay as u play bonus would really show if diaby has a shred of decency about him. The club and the supporters have stood by him long enough. Its time to give something back come on abou be a bigger man than others have been show us some respect.

  • CK says:

Wot a shame. Diaby has talent but can never be the star. Fact is we are short on players and have to lose players who don’t play so we can get new players in. Diaby might have to be sacrificed. Rosicky and kibbs also have regular injury problems. Will they have to go aswell? Maybe
