Gunners set sights on Galatasaray shot-stopper

|

fernando musleraArsenal have been linked with a string of goalkeepers this summer, and we are only in late March!

Pepe Reina, Asmir Begovic, Victor Valdes and Petr Cech are just a few on Wenger’s apparent ‘wanted list’, and it seems Galatasaray’s shot-stopper Fernando Muslera is the latest to be linked with a move to The Emirates, with The Gunners said to be monitoring the Uruguayan.

We all know our goalkeeping department could do with a little reinforcement, with Wojciech Szczesny’s future in disarray and Lukasz Fabianksi not considered an ideal candidate for the number one jersey, despite his last two impressive performances behind the sticks.

Muslera, whose contract expires in 2016, has stated in the past that it would be a ‘dream’ of his to play in the Premier League. However, Galatasaray president Unal Aysal says he will fight to keep hold of the 26-year-old shot-stopper.

‘Our goal is clear. Until we win the Champions League it’s important we don’t sell our best players.’

Anything can happen from now until the end of the season, and it will be interesting to see whether or not Wenger decides to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer. My gut feeling suggests he will. Who? I haven’t got a clue.

Muslera is a very good goalkeeper, much better than what we have available, he would jump in the first team straight away
