Would the potential signing of this French star please bemoaning Arsenal fans?

|

At 28, he has lost a little bit of his pace, but that hasn’t really affected his game. He possesses great technique and his first touch is as smooth as silk. Ribery is also a fantastic dribbler and passer. He generally prefers to cut in from the left flank and have a go at goal. He has got that extra bit of magic that I feel will give Arsenal’s attack a completely different outlook. In short, he has the game that would suit Arsenal’s style perfectly.

On the flip side, he is injury-prone. It would be a huge gamble if Arsenal were to sign him because RVP is another key player who is prone to injuries. But despite his injuries, he had a tally of seven goals and eleven assists last season for Bayern. He has scored over 50 goals in his four years at Munich – these stats prove that he is a consistent performer despite being regularly absent, and has generally performed well whenever he returns from injuries.

He has had a few problems with his temperament in the past and isn’t the best team player you’ll find. But these are issues that Wenger has beautifully handled in the past and will surely love to try and revive the career of his fellow Frenchman. With Ribery potentially occupying the left wing, Arsenal would look fantastic if they play a 4-4-2 formation, with RVP in the second striker role and Wilshere and Song in the heart of the midfield. It will give us more options going forward and will allow Van Persie to utilize his playmaking abilities to the maximum.

Ribery is a flashy player and likes to take a shot from distance – this will give us an element of surprise, as we rarely do this anymore.

It would be great for Arsenal if he joins, as he is the kind of signing that fans are crying out for.

He has the experience of winning major silverware and will compliment the young Arsenal squad excellently. His injuries and temperament must be controlled though if we are to see the best of him.

If given the right atmosphere and system, Ribery can be one hell of a player.

Yet again, there is no official news on this front and Ribery is just another name being linked with Arsenal. But I am just praying with all my heart that this turns out to be true.

One hopes that Gazidis is honest about his ‘private business’ claims and Ribery will be an Arsenal player this season. Here’s hoping!

Bemoaning Arsenal fans … you xxxxhead. If the Arsenal fans had been in charge of transfer policy for last season when, at last, Wenger – the God figure – had money to spend … the team would have won something.

And no, buying Ribery would not persuade us. Not only because of his under age sex allegations. The man is on the decline.

What, do you sit on your couch and make up this stuff in your head ??? there have been no talks and if they’re doing business behind closed doors, HOW did you come to know that they’re targeting a 22 million rated player as a replacement for the boys that we got for peanuts ?
