Arsenal are interested in making a move for RB Salzburg hitman Erling Haaland, according to a report from German outlet Bild.

The Norwegian striker has scored 26 goals in all competitions so far this season for RB Salzburg, and is attracting interest from a host of top European sides, including Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

But the report from the print edition of Bild, as cited by Sport Witness, suggests that the Gunners are also keen, and even goes as far as to suggest that the 6’4″ ace and his father have visited the north London club personally.

Would Haaland be a good signing for Arsenal?

In a word, yes.

Haaland has to be one of the hottest prospects in world football right now, and the fact that he has hit 26 goals so far this season, at the age of just 19, is almost frightening.

That works out at a goal every 48 minutes, as per Transfermarkt, but the young Norwegian is so much more than just a poacher.

His physical presence, standing at 6’4″, makes him a proper handful for defenders, and his Whoscored rating of 7.76 makes him one of the top 20 highest rated players in this season’s Champions League. To reiterate, he is a teenager.

Whether the Gunners will have the might to fight off some of the other interested parties remains to be seen, and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and Gabriel Martinelli on the books, you could maybe argue that they don’t necessarily need another goalscorer, but if they brought in Haaland, it would have the whole footballing world talking.
