Arsenal are keeping tabs on teenage centre-forward Karim Adeyemi, according to Transfermarkt

The 17-year-old is currently on loan at Austrian second tier side FC Liefering from parent club RB Salzburg, and has hit five goals and assisted four more in 11 league appearances so far this term.

The report also states that Barcelona have already failed with a bid of around £12.9 million for the starlet, and that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are both interested in the German youth international as well.

Would Adeyemi be a good signing for Arsenal?

Signing a player at 17 is always going to be a gamble. Any number of things can derail a career in those early stages, and all sorts of factors can come into play.

Adeyemi does seem to be a special talent though.

So far this season, he has been involved in a goal every 85.7 minutes for Liefering, as per Transfermarkt, scoring once every 189 minutes.

As a point of reference, Alexandre Lacazette has a goal every 204 minutes, so far this term, as per Transfermarkt.

You can argue that Adeyemi is playing at a much lower level than the English top flight,  but let’s not forget he is still just a teenager, and his potential is sky high. Scoring goals at any level, let alone senior, at that age is a massive achievement, and he deserves all the credit in the world.

With the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool also snooping, landing him wouldn’t be easy, but if the Gunners could pull off a deal, what a coup it could be for them in the long term.
