There may be a knock-on effect from Wayne Rooney’s move to Derby County – one that surprisingly may please many of the Arsenal fanbase.
The Washington Post report that D.C. United has held preliminarily talks with two high-profile names as a potential replacement for the 33-year-old former Manchester United star.
One of those players is Mario Ballotelli whilst the other is Mesut Ozil, which has sparked mass reaction from a number of Gooners.
It is believed that Ozil’s representatives will meet with the club in Washington some time next week.
One supporter said it meant that the 30-year-old was effectively considering retirement but he would like to see him complete the duration of this upcoming Premier League season.
Others weren’t so kind hoping that the rumour was true with one fan claiming that this summer keeps on getting better whilst another was quick to praise Raul Sanllehi saying that he has done it again.
