Arsenal have been working hard in the market to secure fresh faces, signing Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno, with Unai Emery’s side widely linked with other targets.

For the last few weeks it has been stated that Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, with a deal being made official after Uruguay’s involvement in the World Cup, and another confirmation of the move has been revealed.

Torreira admitted to the press last week that he was in the dark on his future, while Sampdoria’s president also revealed an exit had gone ahead- and now the agent of another reported Arsenal target has broken the news.

The Gunners have been linked with interest in Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka but his agent Branislav Jasurek suggested a move won’t go ahead due to Arsenal’s capture of Torreira. Speaking to La Voz de Galicia, he said:

“Arsenal have bought Torreira to play six, so I do not think it’s going to happen. We only had a few words about feelings about the club, about what we think about Stanko’s future, but nothing in particular.”
