Don Balon are reporting that Arsenal have the “strongest” case of any club for persuading Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele into signing for them.
The Frenchman has struggled with injuries and form since making the switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and there have been rumours that the Catalan club may consider offloading the player after just one season.
Whether there is any truth to that we’ll have to wait and see, but Don Balon claim that Dembele’s friendship with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could play an important role. The Frenchman played alongside the Gabon international for a season at Dortmund.
The Barcelona attacker is reportedly a name that is on a list of summer targets for the Gunners, but with so much uncertainty over Arsene Wenger’s future, it seems doubtful that transfer plans are that far advanced.
This is one rumour that definitely needs to be taken with a large pinch of salt. Dembele could leave the Camp Nou in the summer, but Barca are unlikely to want to sell for much less than the initial €120m they paid for him at the start of the season.
