Luis Enrique has remained out of football after leaving Barcelona last summer, where the 47-year-old impressed in Catalonia by winning two La Liga titles, one Champions League and three Copa Del Reys during his time at the Nou Camp.
However, he fell to Real Madrid’s superiority under Zinedine Zidane and has seen his former employers turn a corner under the leadership of Ernesto Valverde- which is exactly the sort of boss that Enrique could provide at the Emirates Stadium.
At his age, Enrique could steady the ship for the long-term and a potential link-up with former Barcelona man Raul Sanllehi, now Head of Football at the north London side, could prove to be a masterstroke behind the scenes.
