Arsenal have seen their contract problems take centre stage once again during the past 12 months, with Alexis Sanchez moving to Manchester United and Mesut Ozil only recently signing a new deal.

The issue is set to rear it’s ugly head once again in the coming weeks as Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla both see their current deals expire at the end of the season, along with Per Mertesacker- who’s set to retire and take a coaching role with the academy.

It’s left Arsenal under pressure to improve their management in that particular area but another heavy hit could be experienced this summer, as The Daily Mail state the Gunners are prepared to cash-in on Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh international has entered the final 18 months of his contract and club officials at Arsenal are fearing the worst, as they begin to identify potential replacements and plot a sale this summer to avoid witnessing a free transfer occur in 2019.

It shows Arsenal’s growing problem in the centre of midfield, with two senior players already edging towards the end of their contracts and Francis Coquelin sold to Valencia during the January transfer window.

With uncertainty on the future of Cazorla, Wilshere and Ramsey, it leaves just Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny as senior options in the middle of the park.
