Arsenal are looking to significantly bolster their ranks after another disappointing campaign has seen the Gunners poised to miss out on a top-four Premier League finish for the second season in a row.
The north London outfit have flexed their financial muscles in the past year to improve their attacking ranks, landing Alexandre Lacazette, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whilst also securing Mesut Ozil to a contract extension.
Reports now claim that Arsenal are ready to focus on improving their options in defence and the Gunners have been widely linked with the services of Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj, who has a mammoth €50m release-clause in his contract.
However, Arsenal will face a stern test to lure the talented full-back to the Premier League as Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb report that serial Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have entered the race for his signature.
24-year-old Hysaj has excelled in Naples since moving to the club in 2015 and his versatility is appealing, as he can play on either side of the defence.
