Arsenal have been attributed with interest in a wide variety of players heading into the summer transfer window but none have caught the eye quite like the links suggesting the Gunners could move for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
The French international only moved to the Nou Camp last summer, costing over £100m, but has struggled with injury issues since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund and is now reportedly seeking an exit from the runaway La Liga leaders.
Spanish outlet Don Balon sensationally claim that Dembele has asked for a transfer to Arsenal, as he’s keen to rebuild the partnership he enjoyed with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during their time in Germany last season.
However, Arsenal could face rival interest in the chase for Dembele’s services, should they become available, from fellow Premier League side Liverpool, who are exploring options in case Mohamed Salah is lured away from Anfield.
Arsenal would likely have to smash their transfer record for the third window in a row if Dembele was to move to the Emirates Stadium but he’d certainly stand as a top-class successor to Alexis Sanchez, who joined Manchester United in January.
