Arsenal are keen to tie up a deal for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, according to Don Balon.

The 26 year old has been linked by the Spanish publication with a move to the Emirates over the past several months and the report suggests that the Gunners are “pushing very hard” to capture the Spaniard’s signature.

Vazquez had an excellent season for Real last campaign, having scored four goals and provided 14 assists in 50 games, but he has been a more peripheral figure this season with starlet Marco Asensio being used more extensively by manager Zinedine Zidane. The wide man has still managed 24 appearances this campaign, but he has only made five starts in the league.

Due to his lack of game time, Don Balon report that Vazquez is seriously considering leaving the Bernabeu with Arsenal an attractive destination. They also say however that he would be a replacement for Alexis Sanchez; something that is highly unlikely considering the stark contrast in the two’s goalscoring records. The winger has scored only 11 goals in 107 appearances for Real.
