Arsenal dealt setback as rival reportedly has ‘agreement’ with Monaco ace

|

Liverpool have an “agreement” in place with Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, according to Yahoo Sport UK journalist Duncan Castles.

Arsenal have been pursuing the French international since the summer, when the Gunners failed to seal a deal for the midfielder on deadline day.

It appears that the Reds may have since agreed terms with the player to move to Anfield, but it seems there is still some hope that he could make the move to the Emirates instead.

Liverpool are reportedly refusing to pay meet Monaco’s valuation for Lemar, which is said to be €100m.

Whether that could lead to the Gunners stepping in to snap up the 22 year old, it is not known. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month, while they are also looking at centre backs.

The club’s pursuit of Lemar seems to have been put on the back burner for now, but there is still a very strong possibility that the winger could be still available in the summer when the Gunners could make another bid.
