Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, according to Mynet Spor journalist Egemen Yildirim.

Arda’s agent Ahmet Bulut has been pictured in London in recent weeks, and it is believed that on one of these trips “an agreement” in principle was made with the Gunners over the terms of the Turkish international’s contract.

Yildirim says that a two and a half year deal has been agreed with the 30 year old, and that the player will get €5m (£4.4m) a season or £84,600 per week.

The next stage, the report suggests, will be for Arsenal to discuss the transfer with Barcelona. Madrid based publication Marca have reported that Barca are keen to get Arda off their wage bill, and that the player could leave without a transfer fee being required.

The Turkish midfielder was only signed from Atletico Madrid for €34m back in 2015, but has failed to play a single minute of first team football this season, and is not part of manager Ernesto Valverde’s future plans.
