Arsenal and Barcelona will have scouts watching Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar tonight when his side face Toulouse in a Ligue One match, according to Foot01.com.
The French website reports that Toulouse have received requests from both clubs to have representatives at the match, and they believe the person of interest is Aouar.
The 19 year old has had an excellent breakthrough season with Lyon, having established himself in the starting eleven after scoring in a 3-3 draw against Dijon back in September. He has started all but one Ligue One game since then, racking up 18 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
Aouar generally plays as a central midfield player, but Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has also employed him on the left flank, where he played at the weekend in the 2-0 win over Marseille.
His excellent start to the season was rewarded with two caps for France’s under 21 side last month when he came on as a substitute in two European Under 21 Championship qualifiers.
