Fenerbahce are increasingly confident about a deal for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere after it merged that the player is now open to a switch to Turkey, according to Sabah (via Aksam).

Wilshere has been reluctant to consider deals outside of the Premier League, and when Fenerbahce previously enquired about his availability, the Super Lig side were told that the 25 year old was not interested.

Fenerbahce reportedly left the door open for future discussions, and they now believe the midfielder has had a change of heart. The England international is said to be considering leaving the Gunners in the January transfer window, and Fenerbahce believe that the “positive” responses they have received from the player means he will consider their proposal.

Sabah report that the next move will be to make contact with Arsenal about Wilshere. Manager Arsene Wenger has said the club will open contract talks with the player at the end of the month but the Gunners face a race against time to sign up the player with his current deal expiring in the summer.
