Serie A leaders Napoli are considering a bid for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to Calcioline.com.
The Italian website reports that the Partenopei are interested in the 25 year old as they look to strengthen their options in central midfield. Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is said to have shortlisted Wilshere as of one of the club’s potential January targets.
The England international’s contract expires in the summer, and the Italian side believe the midfielder may consider a change of clubs when the transfer window opens next month.
Wilshere has yet to begin talks with Arsene Wenger about signing a contract extension despite starting the club’s last two Premier League games. The Arsenal boss says that discussions will commence at the end of December, but by then, other teams will likely have lined up their own offers to the player.
Calcioline suggest a €15million (£13.2m) bid may be acceptable to Arsenal if contract talks don’t progress once they get under way with the midfielder.
