Marseille have joined Arsenal in pursuing West Brom youngster Tyler Roberts, according to the Daily Mail.
The 18 year old’s contract is up at the end of the season, and it seems the French club are keen to snap up the forward for a nominal fee. The Birmingham Mail say that the Gunners and Wolves have been interested in Roberts for a while, but while English clubs would have to pay higher compensation for the Welshman, most likely through a tribunal, foreign clubs are not obligated to pay nearly as much.
The Daily Mail say Marseille would need to pay only £280,000 to sign up Robert while West Brom would be hoping for a lot more from an English side. The player is currently performing well out on loan at Walsall in League One, having scoring five goals in 15 league games this campaign.
The teenager has also been capped five times at under 21 level for Wales, having scored on his debut back in September against Switzerland in a 3-0 win.
