Arsenal are one of five teams who have enquired about Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to Diario Gol.

The Gunners will however face competition from Tottenham, Roma, AC Milan and former club Real Betis for the player’s signature in the January transfer window.

Reports in Spain indicated Ceballos was a summer target for Arsenal before he opted to join Read Madrid for €16.5million instead, but the player’s lack of game time could see the 21 year old leave the Bernabeu just six months after arriving.

The Spaniard has featured 11 times in all competitions for Real this season but manager Zinedine Zidane has rarely used the midfielder with  the player having made just two league starts. One of those starts came against Alaves in September, and he scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

Diario Gol do say that Real Betis are the favourites to re-sign Ceballos on loan in January, and the fact he would need time to adapt to the English game may rule out a move to the Gunners.
