Arsenal have put a price tag of £30m on playmaker Mesut Ozil, according to the Daily Star, despite manager Arsene Wenger’s comments that the player would not be sold in the January transfer window.

Both the German and his team mate Alexis Sanchez have contracts that expire at the end of the season, but the Frenchman told reporters on Tuesday that the pair would still be Gunners players at the start of February.

Yet, it seems that they could be tempted to sell Ozil at the right price. Barcelona have been the club most heavily linked with the 29 year old in recent weeks, and the Daily Star believe the La Liga club may use Arda Turan plus cash in order to tempt Arsenal into selling the German international.

The Turkish midfielder has not played a single minute of first team football this season under manager Ernesto Valverde, although he has been out with a metatarsal injury since mid October. Still, he is reportedly available for transfer and Barca are said to be keen to offload him

Whether the player would interest the Gunners, it is debatable. He is 30 years of age, and has not performed to his best level since leaving Atletico Madrid in 2015.
