Arsenal have already received two “solid” offers for Alexis Sanchez, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist James Robson.

Although the local newspaper does not name the two clubs who have placed the bids, they say the fact they have been made will force Manchester City to offer £20m for the Chilean international.

City were hoping to wait until the summer to pick up the 28 year old on a free transfer, but they will be forced to make their own offer next month instead to ward off potential rivals.

The Manchester Evening News report that the Gunners are willing to sell Sanchez in January, even if they will receive a reduced fee for the player. This contradicts manager Arsene Wenger’s own comments earlier this week where he said he expected both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to be Arsenal players come the start of February.

We are now just a month away from the transfer window opening so it won’t be long for us to find out what stance the Gunners will take on both players.
