Manchester City are considering a January bid for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish publication reports that City boss Pep Guardiola is seeking an impact substitute to add to the vast array of attacking talent he already has at his disposal.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Algerian international in the past, but he was reportedly closest to signing for Roma back in August. The Italian side however couldn’t agree a transfer fee with Leicester, and he remained at the King Power stadium.

With interest from Serie A and La Liga fading, City may have a clear run to sign the 26 year old, with the Gunners said to be focused on Lyon’s Nabil Fekir in the January transfer window.

Mahrez has failed to replicate the blistering form that saw him win the PFA Player of the Year award in 2016, when he helped Leicester to the Premier League title. This campaign, the midfielder’s performance have picked up with two goals and five assists in 12 league games so far.
