Manchester City are considering a January bid for winger Riyad Mahrez, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish publication reports that City boss is seeking an impact substitute to add to the vast array of attacking talent he already has at his disposal.

have been heavily linked with the Algerian in the past, but he was reportedly closest to signing for Roma back in August. The Italian side however couldn’t agree a transfer fee with Leicester, and he remained at the King Power stadium.

With interest from Serie A and fading, City may have a clear run to sign the 26 year old, with said to be focused on Lyon’s in the January transfer window.

Mahrez has failed to replicate the blistering form that saw him win the PFA Player of the Year award in 2016, when he helped Leicester to the title. This campaign, the midfielder’s performance have picked up with two goals and five assists in 12 league games so far.
