Barcelona have proposed €20m and Andre Gomes to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil in January, according to Don Balon.

With the Portuguese midfielder valued at €30m by the Catalan club, the offer would effectively amount to €50m or £44.5m; a considerable sum considering the 29 year old will have just six months to run on his contract in January.

Ozil was man of the match in the 2-0 win over Spurs on Saturday, but the German international is believed to be no closer to signing a new deal to stay at the Emirates.

The Evening Standard have reported that both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been given until the end of December to decide on their futures at the club.

Barcelona meanwhile are keen on the German as they seek an alternative to Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian is unlikely to be sold by the Reds in January, and Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo reported last week that Ozil is deemed a sensible short term solution who can fit in to the La Liga club’s style of play right away, and also be eligible for Champions League football.
