Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has still not closed the door on signing for Borussia Dortmund despite his public statement about staying at the Emirates, according to Le10 Sport.
The French website is usually not the most reliable of sources, and this report should be taken with a large pinch of salt, but they say Dortmund’s interest in Giroud remains despite the 30 year old’s seemingly declaring his desire to remain in London.
The Frenchman revealed after scoring the winner against Leicester City, that he considered leaving the London club this summer but something in his “soul and heart” told him to stay. Le10 Sport however believe the big difference is that the French international is interested in the Bundesliga’s side’s project, unlike Marseille who have been the forward’s other main suitor.
Peter Bosz’s team are in the Champions League, unlike Marseille, and will likely be competing for the title with Bayern Munich after a shaky pre-season for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
