Lack of formal bid from Spanish giants ‘disappointed’ Arsenal full back

|

Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin is reportedly “disappointed” that Barcelona didn’t make a formal bid, according to COPE.

The Spanish radio station report the Spaniard had two meetings with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger where he asked to leave for Barca, but after the London club refused to sell the 22 year old, the La Liga side opted to switch targets to Nelson Semedo instead.

A €30million fee has been agreed between Barcelona and Benfica for the Portuguese international, which almost certainly means that Bellerin will remain at the Emirates for the foreseeable future.

Despite the full back’s reported disappointment, COPE report Bellerin is now happy to stay at Arsenal, and there will be no issues when he rejoins the Gunners for pre-season training.

The defender did not travel with the team for their tour of Australia as he will return later from his vacation after his participation for Spain at last month’s European Under 21 Championships.
