Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin looks almost certain to be staying at the Gunners this summer after Barcelona delegates travelled to Portugal to seal a deal for Benfica full back Nelson Semedo.
RAC1 radio programme Tu Diras (via Mundo Deportivo) revealed the details of the delegation last night. Technical directors Robert Fernandez, Raul Sanllehi and Javier Bordas were to travel on the Flight 1051 to Lisbon at 10:47am this morning and arrive at 12:15pm this afternoon for talks with Benfica.
Portuguese newspaper Record broke the story yesterday that Barcelona had offered €30m for Semedo. It seems that the Catalan club moved for 23 year old after growing impatient with Arsenal’s refusal to negotiate over Bellerin.
Semedo is a client of Jorge Mendes, and due to the super agent’s close relationship with Manchester United, he had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, but no progress was made on the transfer.
