Ian Wright believes there are only two players who could replace contract rebel Alexis Sanchez, should the Chilean leave the Gunners this summer.

The 28-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer having not yet agreed a new deal at the club.

The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Juventus and Bayern Munich to name but a are all believed to be interested in the dynamic forward.

However, it was reported a few days ago that Sanchez has already finalised a deal to move to Manchester City – this according to respected Chilean journalist Fernando Solabarrieta.

Of course, Arsenal fans, as well as Arsene Wenger, would hate the idea of seeing Sanchez leave the club, especially to a Premier League rival.

But Wright, who reckons there is a strong possibility that Sanchez will not be at Arsenal next season, wouldn’t mind seeing the Chilean leave, on one condition that the Gunners bring in someone equally as good, someone like Robert Lewandowski.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will allow the sale of their star striker, or indeed if the Poland international would even consider a move to the Emirates. So, Wright suggested another Bayern player who could fill the potential void left by Sanchez, Chelsea’s Diego Costa.

Costa is almost certain to depart Chelsea this summer having not seen eye-to-eye with manager Antonio Conte this season. However, whether Chelsea would do a deal with Arsenal for the Spaniard is another story.
