RB Leipzig Sporting Director Ralf Rangnick has issued a hands off warning to Arsenal in their pursuit of winger Emil Forsberg.
The Swedish international is reportedly a summer target for the Gunners, and the 25 year old was due to discuss his future with his agent last weekend. Speaking to Bild (translated by the Mirror), Rangnick says none of the club’s best players will be leaving the Bundesliga side over the close season:
“We’re not thinking about selling our best players this summer. There’s no red line for us. We will keep our team and improve it in several positions.”
Forsberg’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya previously spoke to Bild about Forsberg potentially leaving Leipzig despite Rangnick’s opposition to such a move. He felt that as Forsberg is heading into the prime of his career, the German club maybe more willing to let the player go.
Last season, the winger scored eight goals and provided an incredible 22 assists in 30 Bundesliga matches. It was his first season in the German top flight after signing for Leipzig from Malmo at the start of the 2015/16 campaign when the club were still in the second division.
