Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio is unhappy with his contract situation at the Spanish club and wants an improved deal from Real president Florentino Perez, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish publication report that Asensio’s situation has come to the attention of both Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Italian side Roma.
They believe the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on the 21 year old and wants to make the Spaniard one of his key summer signings to improve Arsenal’s squad for next season. Don Balon however also say Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is going all out to beat Wenger for Asensio’s signature.
The attacking midfielder scored the fourth goal after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 over Juventus in the Champions League final last weekend. He reportedly feels his performances merit a greater financial reward.
Asensio has a contract that currently runs until 2022 but he was given a more prominent role under Real boss Zinedine Zidane last season, making 19 starts. In total, he made 30 appearances last campaign, scoring ten goals and providing four assists.
