Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil would be prepared to leave the Gunners and join Turkish side Besiktas if the club can match his huge salary demands, according to Hurriyet (translated by Turkish-football.com).

The Turkish publication reports that the German international would at least consider the switch to Istanbul if they can offer him £350,000 a week. Ozil was born in Germany but he is of Turkish descent and may find the move to Besiktas a more attractive proposition.

The 28 year old has twelve months to run on his contract at the Emirates but there have been no suggestions a new deal is any closer to being agreed. It is likely more news will emerge after manager Arsene Wenger’s future is decided upon in the coming days after the FA Cup final.

This season for the Gunners, Ozil has scored ten goals in all competitions, and provided 14 assists in the 43 matches he has played.
