The agent of Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has revealed his client’s first choice would be return to previous club Deportivo La Coruna.
The 28 year old moved to Arsenal from the Spanish club for £17million last summer but has struggled for first team opportunities at the Emirates. Speaking to Cope Coruna (quotes via Marca), Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle said:
“The first option would always be Deportivo, The first club we would talk to.”
Lovelle went on to say though that any return to Deportivo would be difficult to pull off, possibly due to the transfer fee the Gunners would command. The player is prepared to be patient, the agent stated, and that the summer could be a long one.
Perez has been injured since mid March and hasn’t been named in a matchday squad since the 5-0 win over Lincoln City in the FA Cup quarter final where he came on as a second half substitute.
The forward has impressed when given the chance by manager Arsene Wenger, having scored seven goals in 21 matches, making just nine starts in all competitions.
