Arsenal have lost the race to sign Wolfsburg pair Gian-Luca Itter and Davide-Jerome Itter, according to Kicker.

The German magazine say the twins have agreed to sign new contracts to stay at the Volkswagen Arena until 2021.

Both Itter twins are full backs (similar to former Manchester United players Rafael and Fabio Da Silva) and the Gunners have been chasing them for a number of months, reports Kicker.

Gian-Luca has been playing regularly as a left back in Wolfsburg’s Under-19 side, and has scored two goals and provided seven assists in 14 matches this campaign. He has been tipped for great things and was awarded the Fritz Walter medal for the best Under-17 player in Germany.

Davide-Jerome is believed to be not quite as talented, but has played occasionally for the Under 19 side this season with six appearances so far.

Speaking to Kicker, Wolfsburg Sporting Director Olaf Rebbe said he was delighted that the twins signed a new deal:

‘We are very happy to have Gian-Luca and Davide-Jerome bound to the VfL in the long term. The trust of the two boys, their family and management in the VfL Wolfsburg is a testament to our excellent junior staff at the VfL football academy.’
