Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech does not believe that the Gunners were bullied in their 2-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park last night. Goals from Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams cancelled out Alexis Sanchez’s opener to condemn the Gunners to only their second league defeat of the season.

When asked after the game by the club’s official website whether the team weren’t prepared to go toe to toe with Ronald Koeman’s side, Cech said it is very hard for any team in the Premier League to control the entire match. He said:

“You can’t control games for 90 minutes, there will be moments where the opponents will show their quality. Today, although they were not dangerous for most of the game, they found two goals and in the end you go home with a defeat. But you have to pick yourself up. There is a big period coming up now with the games coming thick and fast and there is no time to dwell on the defeat.”

Arsenal are now still three points behind league leaders Chelsea but the Blues will have the chance to extend their lead at the top to six points tonight when they face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Third place Liverpool meanwhile can draw level on points with the Gunners if they beat Middlesbrough at the Riverside stadium this evening.
