Arsenal ready to offer out-of-favour Gunner new deal

|

Arsenal are ready to offer Olivier Giroud a new deal.

The French striker has found himself warming the bench rather than starting in Arsene Wenger’s side this season, having lost his place to in-form Alexis Sanchez.

As a result of his limited opportunities, the 30-year-old had previously expressed his unhappiness at his situation at Arsenal which led to rumours of him departing the club when the January transfer window opens.

Earlier in the month, however, the France international’s agent dismissed a winter exit, saying his client will remain at Arsenal at least until the end of the season.

And now, according to RMC, as reported by TransferMarketWeb.com, Arsenal are ready to offer him a new deal to remain at the Emirates. It is believed they are willing to give him a one-year extension on his current deal which would expire in 2019.

Nevertheless, Giroud, who has netted five goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season, may well consider his options available to him in the next summer before putting pen to paper on a new deal – especially if he continues to warm the bench from now until May.
