Arrived from Bolton for £2 million over the summer, Holding does look a good prospect for the future.
The 21-year-old versatile defender has made three Premier League and two EFL Cup appearances so far this season, but following the arrival of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia this summer, he has dropped down the pecking order.
A loan move away this January until the end of the current season may be on the horizon for the youngster. It would be healthy for his development if he could get regular first-team football elsewhere.
